On Saturday (Dec. 3) we hosted the FLL regional here at Carl Hayden. Everything went pretty smoothly, we didn't have any major problems, overall it was a good day. On Tuesday (Dec. 6) the presentation boards we due and we also set up the tables for the science fair. Yesterday everyone who entered the science fair was judged and there was an award ceremony after school. This Saturday (Dec. 10) I'm going to take the ACT to try to improve my score.

Last week I went to the gear up office and applied to ASU. I also brought in five toys for the toy drive. On Wednesday everyone who signed up for the science fair had to turn in their write ups. I am still working on my poster board which is due on Dec. 6. Today after school we are going to set up for the FLL regional which is going to take place on Saturday.

Yesterday I went to my counselor to make sure I'm not missing any credits and to talk about scholarships and collage information. Last Thursday (11/10/11) was the FLL scrimmage. I think it went pretty well overall, the FLL regional is going to be on Dec.3 and the state tournament on Dec.10. I am still working on getting toys for the toy drive, I plan on bringing toys sometime next week.

This week we had a college fair for seniors and I got a lot of information and questions answered on what requirements I need to accomplish to get into ASU. I talked to my counselor yesterday, I got a waver and I signed up to take the ACT to try to improve my score. Today after school Ricardo and I worked on lego field set up. I continue to read any updates to get ready for the lego referee test.

Monday and Tuesday I attended the Google sketch up workshop. I find Google sketch up simple to use and I do see myself using it in the future.  This week I've been reading up on any updates for lego and helping to build parts for the lego field. Next week I plan to sign up for the ACT to try to improve my score and I also plan to start mentoring.

On Saturday (09/10/11) I took the ACT at Phoenix Collage. Yesterday I signed up for the science fair thats going to take place on November 15 - 17 at Carl Hayden. Today we had a meeting for the Lego referees and anyone who is going to mentor. We discussed how many people are going to mentor per school and we also discussed the the rules, missions, and any updates for FLL.

On Tuesday I took the safety test and passed it. I also attended the construction workshop, Martin, Maraz, and Dillon talked and showed us how to use some of the tools. Yesterday there was another Lego referee meeting and we basically talked about the rules and the mission of this years competition.

Yesterday we had another lego referee meeting. We were told how to behave when were mentoring and what the consequences are if we break a rule. We talked about the FLL kick off and the Arizona Regionals. Near the end of the meeting we got the chance to program the robot and make it complete a mission.

For the past 3 days I've been attending the Google Docs workshop. For the first day we learned how to use Google Docs and the past 2 days we've been given assignments to do. I think it's easy to use Google Docs, its similar to Microsoft Office, but free. Yesterday after school we had a lego referee meeting. The veteran referees basically told us what to expect in the future.

After the competing team came back from nationals in St. Louis, we unloaded the boxes and we put everything back where it belongs.

Yesterday after school CNN came and took video of us bagging and tagging the robot. Then we all went to the gym and took a team photo.

Yesterday after school I helped on modifying the cart so that it could carry the robot. Later that day the drivers drove the robot around some obstacles to determined who might be the official driver.

Yesterday Dillon, Timmy, Carlos and I cleaned the electrical board, then we spray painted it yellow.

Last Saturday (01/08/2011) we went to the FRC kickoff. This years game looks fun. After the kickoff we came back to school and had lunch. After lunch we did inventory and talked about strategies we can use. Overall I think it went great.
